If the descent into dystopia isn’t happening quickly enough for your microplastics-clogged brain tubes, then book yourself some quality time in the antiseptic corridors of Pod Brooklyn. This place will have you feeling like life under the dominion of the panopticon ain’t so bad. Personal fave is a single Facebook marketplace Keurig (see photo) for all 200 guests faithfully removed from lobby at 11 am daily. Other hits are old clock with original iPod connector cable as well as two types of charging cables that maybe definitely won’t steal all your data, two exhaust fans (one sink, one for toilet/shower) that never turn on, and elaborate steal shudders that aren’t anywhere near room-darkening, and “interminable restaurant remodel”, wherein new resto installation across giant swaths of common areas, including both rooftop decks, the only ones with views of both the Manhattan and Brooklyn skylines, are closed (don’t let them try to smooth talk you into believing the only open one makes up for it; it has a view of nearly nothing. Nothing!). All this can be yours for the low price of around $2000 per week. The sometimes scarily alert staff is very responsive, but not having any of your bullshit. Keep in mind they are also powerless under the panopticon and whoever owns this slice of soft horror. So be nice. But also don’t let them boss you.

Can't really fault it. We were very pleasantly surprised by the Pod. Lots to like. Great value compared to eye watering Manhattan prices. Safe and secure. Modern. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room with housekeeping at a frequency you choose. Comfortable mattress and pillows. We had an interior courtyard room and didn't hear any noise from the surrounding roads or indeed other guests. Yes the rooms are tiny but you have everything you need. And the shower over toilet thing mentioned by other reviewers really isn't that bad. We appreciated the complimentary tea and coffee every morning and discounts at a couple of local restaurants to make up for the current bar/restaurant closure. Williamsburg is a fantastic area with great shops, bars etc and amazing views of Manhattan just a 10 min walk away at the North Williamsburg ferry stop. We even had a view of the Chrysler building from our window. Easy access to the subway at Bedford Ave c.5 mins away and then around 20/30 mins to the main Midtown sites. Manhattan is frenetic and we enjoyed being able to retreat to Williamsburg where things are more relaxed. It was a gamble to choose to stay in Brooklyn on our first visit to NYC and we didn't regret it one bit.

I stayed in Pod Brooklyn for a week and absolutely loved it. It’s comfortable, very quiet and most importantly the location was great. The rooms are modern and very comfortable, especially for solo travelers. From 7-11am the hotel offers complementary coffee/tea which was pretty good. There is a grocery store right next door, which is great if you want to grab a snack. The location in term of city center is great as well. The L train (subway) is only a 5 minute walk or even less if you walk faster and in just 10-15 minutes you are right in the center of New York. If you want to walk to the seaside, it’s about 20 min but it’s worth it for a great first view of Upper Manhattan. It would be much more convenient if there was a mini fridge in the room (but considering limited space it’s understandable that it may not be possible). But overall it was a great experience staying in this hotel!

Very clean, comfortable room. It's small, but the layout was really well-thought-out, and everything I needed was inside. I'd say the size is perfect for one person, a little tight for two if you're not used to living in the city. They even provided a mini fridge when I asked for one at check-in. Yes, the toilet is inside the shower, but it didn't bother me much at all. The location is outstanding! Right in the heart of Williamsburg with tons of great restaurants, bars, and shopping. The subway stop is a quick 5-min walk away. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I'd absolutely stay here again.

My daughter and I loved our stay at the pod Brooklyn Hotal. What an amazing location. Williamsburg has such a great vibe. The pod is a short walking distance from the subway, bus stops, view of Manhattan, Smorgasburg, Artists & fleas, Joe's pizza, plenty of great coffee shops etc. We felt safe and comfortable at the pod with the welcoming staff, great facilities, clean rooms, coffee + tea in the mornings, free ponchos + umbrellas for rainy days, water station to refill water bottles, luggage storage and the patios. It's more than just value for money! We would definitely recommend it!
